About StrokEngine

Welcome to StrokEngine, a site for individuals who have experienced stroke, their families and health professionals who work in the field of stroke rehabilitation. StrokEngine has been developed with the support of the Canadian Stroke Network to support the use of evidence-based stroke rehabilitation in clinical practice. StrokEngine is recognized for its scientific rigor by the Canadian Cochrane Center. We receive over 40,000 visitors each year including clinicians, researchers, academics, teachers, students, patients with stroke and their family/friends.

We are pleased to offer three unique sites. Our original StrokEngine site provides information on the effectiveness of over 35 interventions used in stroke rehabilitation and includes Canadian Best Practice Recommendations for Stroke Care 2010. International best practice guidelines, practical guides, e-learning modules and pocket guides are also being added to further assist clinicians. StrokEngine Assess provides information on over 60 assessments related to stroke. Our latest site, StrokEngine Family, is tailored to patients and families and uses real-life stories to provide evidence-based information and answer questions about the stages of recovery from stroke.

We hope that you find the sites helpful and we welcome your feedback and requests to ensure that the sites provide current, useful information for our readers.
