Driving after stroke
Introduction
Return to driving is a priority for many people following stroke. For some, the stroke has affected the abilities required for safe driving. The time required before it becomes safe to resume driving varies from one person to another. In some cases the abilities may be permanently affected, making it impossible to safely resume driving.
Driving rules vary depending on the region and on the specific problems encountered following the stroke. Click on the Patient/Family button to learn more about driving post-stroke.
