Welcome to the Family

The Stroke Engine team is delighted to announce a new arrival to accompany the existing Stroke Engine and Stroke Engine Assess websites. Our latest website, Stroke Engine Fam ily, has been developed uniquely for individuals with stroke and their families in response to feedback and requests received from our readers. We have customized information from the original Stroke Engine website to cater to the specific needs of patients and families regarding stroke, stroke recovery and stroke interventions. Specifically, the site follows two individuals, Jack and Isabelle, as they recover from stroke. Stroke Engine Fam ily answers questions that patients and their family members have regarding stroke and consequences of stroke. In doing so, the site helps patients and families understand what to expect at different stages of recovery, from being in hospital to transitioning to rehabilitation, to going home and living with stroke. Stroke Engine Fam ily also provides links to printable information and useful sites for patients and families. In the tradition of Stroke Engine, Stroke Engine Fam ily draws upon evidence-based research to provide quality information that is current, sound and reliable. All sites continue to be free to use. Our webmaster Adam Kagan has designed the Stroke Engine Family website to be patient-oriented, user-friendly and easy to access. The site complements the clinician-oriented Stroke Engine and Stroke Engine Assess websites that are managed by Patrick Paul.

We welcome you to visit Stroke Engine Fam ily and invite you to share this site with your colleagues and clients. We hope you continue to visit the Stroke Engine and Stroke Engine Assess websites, and we encourage you to provide us with feedback about ways that these websites can best support clinicians, patients and families of stroke.
